March 18, 2008 Board Meeting Agenda Item #42 Title APPROVAL/DENIAL OF THE CHARTER RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE SUNCOAST SCHOOL FOR INNOVATIVE STUDIES Description The Charter for the Suncoast School for Innovative Studies expires on June 30, 2008.  Pursuant to F.S. 1002.33 (8), the School Board must notify the school 90 days prior to the end of the contract if, due to statutory reasons, the Charter will not be renewed.  The school and district staff have provided the Board with data and comments related to the school's application at two previous workshops.  If the renewal application is approved, a new Charter will be negotiated and brought to the Board for approval.
